Ghost#Dialer 3.0: Phasmal Attunement

This update does not include additional chapters being added.

In the past I've mentioned that the 3.0 update will have extra scenes, and while those scenes do exist they'll be presented differently than I first planned. Some of what I have written has gone into the full novella, Ghost#Dialer: 0.Zero, which tells of what the Wisemen were doing leading up to the start of the the game - Kite's Journey specifically. I've decided to pick and choose which parts of this world's narrative will be told through novels, and which parts will be adapted into full and separate visual novels.

With that out of the way!

What's been added:

***Diary System: An all-new gameplay mechanic, that sees the main character updating their mobile diary as the game progresses. With entries that unlock as you go along, there are 45 in all to collect! They offer insight into the character's mind, extra details on each character, and build up the lore of Liminal City. I hope you enjoy this additional content added to the adventure!

***New Cutscene: A previously audio-only ending cutscene for the 2.0 epilogue chapter Phase of Eve, has been given visuals and re-done. This was done for a few reasons, the first being that I wasn't happy with the original scene's voice acting, as well as wanting to add visuals that I didn't have the energy to create at the time.

Re-Edited Script: My Hex Code Girls bestie, https://twitter.com/trueghoul, and I made one final pass through the game's script and have elevated it to a place where I'm really happy with it. Nothing too major has been overhauled - most changes are minor. So this portion of the update was made with new players and the future of the game in mind. If you do wish to replay the game to see what the diary system is all about, you'll get the added bonus of playing through a more fine-tuned story.

New SFX: In previous versions of the game I was using placeholders for character's ringtones, and I've finally gotten around to composing my own and putting them into the game. They don't come up very often (I believe only once or twice?) so it wasn't a priority, though it was something I've had on my to-do list for a long time. Maybe I'll do something more with them in the future.

This will hopefully be the definitive version of Ghost#Dialer. I have plans of putting it up on steam in the near future so if that interests you look out for that! I will probably make another dev update for that as well.

Looking to the future:

I have another novella, currently titled Warm Black, which is almost finished that actually focuses on the Strega side of things. It's going to be very different in tone to these previous works so I'm a bit unsure about how it will be received, yet I'm still quite excited about sharing it. Along with that, the storyline that was originally planned to be included as an extra episode in this 3.0 update will be presented as its own visual novel, currently titled Ghost#Dialer: Commiserator's Phrase. The script for it is about 80% completed, though that still leaves asset creation and coding. It will take place a few years in the past and will focus on Lotus, Balsam, and Lily, and sheds light on how the Wisemen were formed.

There's also another visual novel I have about 60% of the script written for, which doesn't have a working title yet takes place around the same time as Ghost#Dialer: Commiserator's Phrase with a new cast of characters. It will have a different tone and presentation, and I'm hoping it might appeal to people in a different way from Ghost#Dialer.

I know... the ideas really just come into my head and I'm bad at managing projects lol so I have a lot I'm working on at the same time. I know I've also mentioned Ghost#Dialer's sequel, Magnolia's Don't Live Forever, and that is mostly a concept at this point. Ideally I would like for that to be an RPG in some form, so that may not come until a bit into the future.

I've learned a lot through this process, and I want to keep getting better and better at telling and showing stories that are important to me. I hope you'll join me as I continue this honestly kinda wild endeavor of being a solo creator, lol. And again, thank you so very much for reading and playing. This is what I'm low-key dedicating my life to so I appreciate any and all support!
